Jewelry and Painting Party Pooper Pulls Through

Here’s a link to my mailing list, because I just don’t know when to quit ūüôā

Sometimes I wish my boyfriend were more supportive of my endeavors to start this online business, if that’s what you want to call it, but tonight he pulled through for me.

No, he still does not have faith in my business model, but he did say he wants me to succeed. I think his exact words were, “I’m just telling you to quit now because I don’t want to see you sad if you fail.” He brought up how disappointed I was in the low number of attendees I have scheduled for the party thus far.

It may be a bit of a back-handed compliment, but I’ll take what I can get. I may be exploring the vintage tennis-shoe market with him sometime in the near future. At this point, I’m willing to try to sell just about any product. Got any cool ideas? Email me ( or comment below!

About fashion, I’m so glad it’s spring. SO GLAD! One trend in makeup I’ve seen is lavender eye shadow. I can dig it. If you have green or hazel eyes, purple eye shadow or eye liner will make them look brighter. I don’t know if covergirl makes it anymore, but they used to have an eye brightening mascara that had sparkles specific to each eye color. The mascara didn’t do much in the way of thickening my eyelashes, but I do think it brightened my eyes and it worked alright for adding length.

Here’s a link to what Vogue has to say¬† . In summary, I’m seeing pink, graphic prints – especially vertical stripes, the statement sleeve (think old-timey, poofy wedding dress sleeves, not my personal favorite), slogan tees, clothes that look like swimwear, sheer layers, shoulder pads in all sorts of tops, dresses in cream, bone, and ivory, utilitarian pieces with a feminine touch, retro wallpaper florals, and finally, bold neons.

Sweet dreams are made of these {neon things}, right? ¬†I’m all about bright colors when the temperatures start rising. ¬†Summertime tans also play well with shades of white. ¬†Step 1 – Get your natural glow camera ready. ¬†Step 2 – Rock a flattering ivory piece. ¬†Tees with trendy words or phrases printed in big letters have been reclaimed from social groups, businesses, and toddlers all the world over. ¬†Whether you’re going for politically charged or chic, there’s a slogan t-shirt somewhere out there in the bigwideworld waiting patiently for you to find it and bring it home. ¬†Got a closet full of clothes, but nothing to wear to work? ¬†Not to worry, spring of ’17 will feature cute, functional pieces that might actually make Mondays exciting.

Watch The Perks of Being a Wallflower if you feel like crying. ¬†Emma Watson plays a lead part: ¬†need I say more? ¬†I need to. ¬†Emma Watson’s breakout role as Hermione in Harry Potter and the Sorcerer’s Stone¬†shot her into stardom at the age of nine. ¬†She has since transitioned into a successful adult actress and women’s rights activist. ¬†Watson’s Appointment to UN Women Goodwill Ambassador in July of 2014 made her the ideal candidate when the¬†HeForShe campaign needed a public face. ¬†You can watch the empowering speech she gave to rally¬†HeForShe¬†support by following the link. ¬†I could go on forever about all of Emma Watson’s amazing accomplishments, but I’ll let you do your own research instead.

The trends I most likely won’t be buying into myself will be the puffed-up sleeves along with their unbecoming sister, shoulder pads, and swimwear masquerading as clothing. ¬†My shoulders are plenty broad enough already. ¬†As far as the swimsuits go, I don’t care to wear a swimsuit unless I’m going swimming. ¬†I really think the fashion industry is trying to show some skin a little too hard with that one.

So this spring think pink, think bright, think bold patterns. If wearing a yellow polka-dot bikini out on the town floats your boat, I guess that’s acceptable now. I mean why not? The world has seen stranger things.

“People will stare, make it worth their while,‚ÄĚ ‚ÄďHarry Winston.
